When I was a little girl, I spent most of my time with my nose in a book. When I wasn’t reading, I was making up elaborate stories of my own, playing dress-ups, and climbing trees. I’m still the same girl, writing stories and letting my imagination run wild.

I grew up near the beach, not far from where I live now – my mum and dad, my brother, our dog, and Puss, my 14 year old cat who is still with me today.

I got married earlier this year. Jed and I have been together for eight years. I keep reminding him that’s a third of my life! It’s been a good third, too. I am so lucky that I found him so soon, right when I needed to find someone to love.

My cat Puss followed my brother and I home from school one day, and she’s kept following us around through my parents divorce, moving houses multiple times, and finally came with me to our little hacienda near the beach.

Then there’s Marley and Lulu- We were given Marley as a puppy three years ago, and then rescued Lu from the pound about six months later. They are absolute mental cases.

I like to think of my house as my Mexican hacienda, because of the way it’s been rendered on the outside. It’s our first house, and it still has a lot of things that need to be done both inside and out, but I love it.
